Hiring a Permanent Part-Time Optometrist for a Vision Therapy Practice in Kirkland, WA
Gabrielle Family Vision Care is looking for an optometrist who is willing to be trained to be skilled in evaluating vision therapy patients, to program and coordinate vision therapy care, and to confidently examine all types of patients (infants, toddlers, patients with special needs, patients with TBI, etc.) for visual information processing difficulties, strabismus, amblyopia, general binocular, accommodative and oculomotor cases. We will of course offer extensive training so that the optometrist’s evaluations and treatment plans match our current philosophy of care. Training will be extensive in the beginning and with support throughout employment.

Gabrielle Family Vision Care has offered vision care for the whole family since 2007. Our new patient exams are 2.5 hours long with no technicians. Vision therapy progress evaluations are 60-75 min. We are looking for an administrative assistant and patient care coordinator who shares our passion for patients. Your friendly and professional communication skills will be critical to setting the right tone with patients in person, on the phone and by email. Your coordination skills will help you multi-task and complete the duties that keep our office running smoothly, including pulling files, creating invoices and making reminder phone calls to patients, etc

The Position
Greet patients in person and help with check in and check out
Answer phones and schedule appointments
Filing and pulling patient charts for the day
Helping with payroll, schedule changes
Creating invoices and collecting payment
Preparing mail and recall mailouts
Type summaries and patient reports
Order supplies for the clinic
Photocopying, organizing and misc clerical projects and duties
Ordering supplies and taking inventory
Organizing and cleaning and tidying up
Sending referrals and consults
Misc projects

We are an optometric clinic with a difference and have an exceptional team. We give our therapists lots of planning time to prepare for their patients. All therapists have 15 minutes between patients. We have a HUGE inventory of therapy activities and a hierarchy that makes it easy to plan and track progress. The doctor spends 2.5 hours face-to-face time with patients and weekly one-on-one time with each therapist to offer support.
The Position
We are looking for a VISION THERAPIST, to do one-on-one training:
Weekly 45 minute appointments with patients (primarily children)
6 private individual therapy rooms and a large shared room
Detailed hierarchy which is easy to follow and track patient’s progress

Comprehensive VT program with thousands of activities and detailed writeups
Additionally, you would handle some**administrative duties **to assist the front desk staff: greeting patients, answering phones, responding to emails, copying, filing, miscellaneous admin and VT projects, tidying/cleaning, inventory, ordering etc.

Planning vision therapy activities for patients and scoring tests
Teaching patients and providing instruction for their home vision therapy practice - will need to be able to demonstrate activities at times on the floor
Documenting progress in chart notes
Coordinating plan of care with the doctor
Organizing vision therapyequipment, procedures and handouts
Developing new vision therapyactivities
